Starting at the age of 6 in jazz and tap, Amy grew up to experience all styles and realised that this was her lifestyle until she dies. Amy has been in the top 80 of 2010 So You Think You Can Dance Australia, she has travelled to America to compete in the world Hip Hop Championships, and ranked in the top 20 of the world.
Bottoms Up! Pole Craft
The Bottoms Up! Pole Craft group are a group of students who have worked and performed together over the past three years. The group includes VPC Amateur Champion Ally Cat; Runner up APC Amateur Division; Lisa Dyball (XOR) and APC amateur competitors Sarah McCormick & Carmen Paech.
Brooke’s background is in Ballroom and Latin – she was second in the World Diamond Cup Hong Kong, 2nd Australian Open, and has featured on the Strictly Dancing tv show as well as performing in many pole competitions and shows.
Cherie and Catie
Cherie and Catie have been doing pole since 2010 and doubles since 2012. They consider themselves doubles tricksters but are now turning their focus to becoming better performers and dancers.
With no background in dance or gymnastics, Cynthia started pole in 2011 as a bet. Since she’s placed in amateur pole competitions as well as being a national finalist in the 2015 Australian Pole Championships.
Dallas Dee is a pole & burlesque performer and instructor. Dallas loves the SHOW aspect of routines – the story, the sequins, the song choice – and is well known for her outgoing, fun and cheeky character- based performances.
Elle has been voted one of our Encore Heroes! Having danced her whole life, Elle is no stranger to choreography or show prep. She dabbled in Ballet and Gymnastics briefly, before moving onto Physical Culture, Cheerleading, Contemporary Dance and then finally Pole Dancing. The love affair was instant!
Felicity is an international pole dance artist and contortionist from the UK who has travelled extensively around the world captivating audiences with her outstanding strength and extreme flexibility.
She is a World Pole Dance finalist as well as 1st runner up and Best Tricks winner in Miss Pole Dance UK, 2012 and 2013.
Foxy and Ivy
Foxy is and pole dance instructor and a Sydney based showgirl who has been dancing for 8 years. She has performed all over Australia and overseas and loves the creativity of dancing on and off the pole. Whether it is performing for 1 or 1000 people, she takes great pride in her shows and loves to twirl, split, roll and play up on stage.
Ivy holds a Bachelor of Dance Education and has experience in a range of styles of dance including classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and cheerleading. Her love for pole began when she started pole dancing after having her first baby, seeking to renew her confidence and learn new skills.
Ivy has been dancing since she was 4 years old in various styles including classical ballet, contemporary and jazz. After the birth of her first son she was eager to extend her dance repertoire and get her “sexy back”. In July she became a mum of two and began writing a blog all about her love for pole. She hopes to inspire others on her postpartum pole journey. Her style is sexy and sassy with high heels and a smile.
Jen has been pole dancing since 2010 but has been dancing since the age of 4. Aside from pole Jen also teaches classical ballet, aerial hoop and silks. Jen loves to show her versatility and is here to one again prove that pole can be anything you want it to be, and more!
Karolina graduated from the Academy of Physical Education with specialisation of Fitness in Warsaw. She titled her master’s thesis “Pole Dance as a modern form of fitness”. Pole Dance gives her opportunity to fulfill her childhood dreams about flying! For her pole dance is always about the feelings! She is the European Pole Sport Champion 2015 (doubles) and Winner of PoleArt Spain 2015 (doubles) and PoleArt Polska 2015 finalist.
Kylie J is a highly established artist in the Australian Pole industry, dedicating the last 14 years to performing, instructing, choreographing and promoting pole. Kylie’s unique style of pole explodes with character, grace and personality and more recently involves strapping wheels to her feet with aerial acrobatic displays of Roller Pole!
Kym began competing just over a year ago and have more recently placed first as an amateur at NSW 2015. She was a finalist at APC in 2015 and competed as a professional for the first time in Vertical Limits, placing 2nd. She has a background in gymnastics and is on a mission to eventually sit on her head.
La Bella Russa & FreeFly Yogi
Originally Elena discovered her dancing passion through Ballroom and Latin dancing. This allowed her to travel all over Russia and Internationally competing and performing. Elena started looking for new avenues to express herself and that’s when her relationship with pole blossomed!
Daniel is more than just a Yoga teacher, he is a fearless adventurer. Daniel’s passion for adrenaline is evenly balanced by the calmness of meditation and yoga. His curiosity and love for challenges, has lead him to discover aerial silks, of which he has shared his skills on stages at Slide, Subsonic music festival and Coffs Harbour Circus School.
Malinda has been pole dancing for 10 years and teaching for 9 years previously teaching in the UK before she moved to Australia in 2007. This will be the first time she has ever taken to a major stage and her performance is to celebrate her 10 year anniversary of taking up pole.
Oryx loves pole dance because it’s a gender diverse, body positive and constantly evolving discipline where everyone can be themselves and more. Doing mind-bending & death defying tricks in lingerie is also a major drawcard. There’s nothing she loves better than to spin under the glow of the fairy lights with her eyes closed.
Penelope P Pitbull
Whether it’ teaching a new move to students, nailing a move herself, delivering a calf or doing the rounds to check the new lambs, not one day is ever the same for Penelope. Not in a million years did she ever envisage this beautiful and crazy life for herself, and it’s definitely not your average fairytale. This twerking pole dancer is also one of our Encore Heroes!
Poleahontas first started pole dancing in August 2014. She was awarded student of the term when she was in level 1 because of her positive attitude & determination. Whenever she performs her goal is to leave a lasting impression on the audience.
Being a team with such varied dance backgrounds (including ballet, cheerleading, contemporary, hip hop, bollywood, belly dancing & acrobatics), the aim is to always showcase everybody’s strengths along with some intense doubles and triples tricks. Pole Fanatics have a tendency to teeter on the edge of going over the top!
Shannyn is an aspiring hand balancer with 7 years of calisthenics under her belt, as well as a year of contortion training. She has been a finalist in Miss Pole Dance Victoria for the last 4 years as well as a finalist more recently in the Victorian Pole Championships.
With a long dance & performance history in Australia & Internationally, Sparkarella loves anything to do with movement & performance. Currently she performs as a solo artist, choreographs & mentors students, and shows and also dances the Argentine tango. But her most favourite thing by far is being a Mum to her vibrant little daughter Chilli!
The VertiGirls’ pole addiction has forged an incredibly strong friendship and they have been voted Encore Heroes after their previous Encore performance. They were finalists at the Pole Games in Melbourne and have competed as soloists in a range of pole competitions, as well as pole performances for charity fundraisers. They are always up for new ways to challenge themselves and look to push their boundaries individually as pole artists and as a group.
Ziade Velvet Vain
Most recently Ziade competed in the 2015 Miss Burlesque Australia competition, placing within the top 5 at the NSW State Final. Over the last few years she has performed burlesque and her signature-style of acrobatic chair dancing around Sydney. For the last 2 years she has been training in acrobatics and adagio which brings out a distinctive flavour in her acts, making them memorable and entertaining for audiences.
